If it’s time to sell a house or a location you represent you must use real estate signs. There are many varieties to choose from. Because there are so many when it comes time to use them you may have some questions. How much should I pay? Where do I put these signs? How big should they be and how many of them do I need?

Well, that may be a lot of questions for something that seems pretty basic. But don’t under estimate the power of real estate signs. When the time comes to sell your house these signs can make a substantial difference. Take a moment to think about it, if you just have a few signs that are not very big you may get some interest but if you have big bold signs its going to grab attention and get more people interested.

Your first step is to figure out what type of sign is good for you. I would like to note here if you have hired an agent then most likely that agent will place a sign on your lawn and you wont have to worry to much about it.

If you think you may try to sell your home without an agent then you want a „for sale by owner sign.“ This sign is usually red and white in color and sort of a trademark if you will.

One thing that’s very important on this sign is to make sure the phone number you write on it is clear and easy to read.

Another option to consider that will add depth to your sign is adding a flyer box to it. These flyer boxes are great because on these flyers you can layout all of the features of the house along with your asking price and your contact information.

One aspect people tend to overlook with real estate signs is the size of them. Remember, these signs will be by the road where pole will be driving by. This means you don’t want them to struggle reading it as they drive by. The starting proper sign size for a lawn is about 18×24 inches and not really any smaller.

Now that you have the signs you need its time to pick a location for them. you want to start with the most obvious spot, in front of the property near the road. Another spot that is good is next to the curb of the main street that is nearest to your road. If possible put one in the intersection of that main road near your home.

So you know what size and what signs and where they should be placed now lets take a step back to how much you should pay. Real estate signs can be bought at most major retail stores but buying them online is the most cost effective way to go. I put a link below to a great spot for low cost, quality signs.

The final piece of information I would like to share here is get even more attention with your signs by using balloons to catch peoples eye. Balloons are a very inexpensive way to grab the attention of the passerby.

Good luck with your success using real estate signs!
